Funny

I had to share two of my favorite comics from this year's calendar:

It's especially funny when you have a dog and a doggie door - they look just like that when they go in and out, like it's the greatest thing ever invented

This one is Kevin in about eight years - hilarious!

Boys With Toys

Kenan and Daddy OD'd on the manliness during our visit to Caldwell: fishing, chopping down trees, buying guns - Mom and I just cooked and watched the entertainment. Oh, and I spent plenty of time by the fire and ate more in three days than I can remember in years. Lucky for me, I haven't stepped on a scale and I don't care :)
We also got to visit with Kurt and we were so happy he was able to stop by.

Can you guess what Kurt got for Christmas from Santa? ;)

The tree that Kenan and Daddy chopped down - the biggest cedar I have ever seen, hands down

I love capturing moments like these - this is why Kenan is going to make a fantastic daddy one day

More planning

Daddy on the AGCO pulling the biggest pieces

Did I mention boys with toys?

Kenan and Kurt launched the boat to the right place where Daddy wanted to sink the branches

Daddy had to explain to me the purpose of this to me - the big branches give the fish a place to hide and basically, it's good for the pond's ecosystem. Pretty cool, huh?

Kenan and Kurt sinking a branch - they did this several times with different branches

Bubela Christmas

We went a-visiting during this past week and had a wonderful time with our families. Christmas Eve we had our usual get-together with the Bubela family and had a fantastic time. I got to have my favorite thing that Momma Bubela makes - dressing :)

Madison conked out about halfway through presents

But Aaron didn't :)

Kevin encouraging the mayhem :) It was so cute; Aaron would pop it and the noise startled him but he wanted to do it again

Kramer Christmas

We had Christmas with my side of the family this weekend in Caldwell and it was very fun and relaxing. Mom made the best dinner ever of a bone-in prime rib (I am going to try it!) with all kinds of wonderful things to go with it. We had lots of fun eating and relaxing and opening presents. Here are some of the pictures:

Christmas Decor

We've been finished decorating for Christmas for about a week now; it has just taken me this long to put up pictures of it. Each year I add a little bit, so it's getting pretty spiffy!

Merry Christmas!!

The Definition of Irony

So I went to mail our Christmas cards today and I needed stamps so I stopped in at the store for Christmas stamps (they have them every year and I always use them for our cards). They did not have Christmas stamps this year - they only have Hanukkah stamps. So, all of my Christmas cards have Hanukkah stamps on them. :)
We plan to get our tree this week!

Countdown to Christmas!

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday - I am a fanatic in the true sense of the word. In fact, we had the lights up on the house and the indoors decorated (with the exception of the tree) before we left town for Thanksgiving. Here's the picture we're putting on our Christmas card this year (coming soon to a mailbox near you):

100,000 Miles

I have lots of love for my car. It's nothing special but it was the first car I've ever bought with my own money, it's paid for, and it's never once had a major mechanical failure (yes, I have knocked on wood). It turned over 100,000 miles yesterday when we were on our way home from work, so we had to capture the moment. Incidentally, it no longer shows tenths of a mile on the odometer. *Sigh*

Random Stuff

I saw The Blind Side yesterday and it was incredibly good. I highly recommend it. This is how I found Madison when I got home:

That blankee isn't hers, so that is clearly what makes it so appealing.
Plus it's chilly enough that the heater was still running in our bedroom about a half an hour ago :)
I've already started getting out the Christmas decorations!!

Whither Thou Goest

Yesterday was our four-year anniversary and my darling husband outdid himself! He took me to the Chart House for dinner in the Tower of Americas, where we've never been, for supper. That's extra romantic because there is a Chart House in Lake Tahoe and it was our favorite restaurant while we were on our honeymoon. So we get there and I'm already impressed but there are flowers on our table for me! He had them delivered to the restaurant!

Kenan's not a fan of heights - here's what he looked like when he found out the restaurant was at the TOP of the tower:

The flowers were just beautiful. They remind me of wedding flowers and they smell great:

Also, I have to brag - check out the beautiful present Kenan got me:

Happy Early Thanksgiving

I really wanted to make a Thanksgiving dinner this year, so Brad and Erin helped out and came over to help us eat it! We had a great time. Check out that table!

All Hail the Queen of Books

It's official - I am a bona fide book reviewer. A representative from Thomas Nelson publishing saw my book review blog (Emily's Book Reviews) and commented on one of my reviews. She sent me that author's new book in the mail and I'll be reviewing it soon, so watch for it on my site!

German People Rule

A bunch of us went to Wurstfest last night to celebrate Erin's birthday with her and we had a blast!

GERMAN GIRLS ARE THE BEST!!!

I think Kenan might be mad at me... :) Actually, I think we both might have missed our calling.
