This is so awesome I had to share...think Riverdance but for lazy people with a much better sense of humor:

Zoo Fun
I know it's weird, but we've lived in San Antonio for a really long time and never been to the zoo. We decided to go over our anniversary weekend and had a great time!
Me and the python - their reptile house had a very wide variety; I was impressed
The okapi, Kenan's favorite animal - part horse, part zebra, and part giraffe
Us with the okapi
Don't tell me you've never had a day like that before - we've all been there
Behold, life as the world's fastest creature (not much to worry about)
Us in the treehouse lookout above the Africa exhibit
Now, this part was very fun - the aviary. You can feed the birds nectar, and mine were clever enough to open the container on their own and start going nuts. The one on my shoulder never even tried to eat it though. He was too busy eating either my hair or my shirt. Good times.
But Kenan wins the prize: a bird found him that liked him so much it wouldn't stop licking him (and I caught it on camera - insert evil laugh here)
Happy Anniversary to Us
It's been the best five years of my life, hands down. We are so fortunate that we found each other and were smart enough to recognize what we had.
Here are the beautiful flowers he gave me (one bouquet of two - he's very good)

Out with the Old, In with the New
Here's one last look at Old Reliable (she sold in two days):
But I freely admit to thoroughly enjoying the replacement:

I Love October Weather
Maybe it's not quite as good as we'll have in November through February, but it's tough to beat. Kenan had a great idea so yesterday we got our lunch in Boerne and ate it at River Road Park with the ducks (I even snuck in some reading). We saw a couple of tiny little ducklings; they were so cute!
Apparently I was going for the "my aviators look really cool but for some reason they are pushing up way too high on my head and I didn't know it when this picture was taken" look. Good times.
I swear, Kenan's favorite thing in the world is to surreptitiously take pictures of me reading

Birthday Camping
We went camping in Waller this weekend for Kurt's birthday and had a blast. Here are some pictures:
An impromptu jam session in our cabin
The BIG (96 steps to get to the top) slide was very popular with the adults :)
Me and Kinley at the pool
The birthday boy blowing out his candles
As you can see, we take putt-putt golf very seriously in our family
See previous caption ;)
The whole fam
Happy Birthday, Kurt!

Home Improvement
Whoever coined the phrase "a place for everything, and everything in its place" was a man/woman after my own heart. There is something about having everything where it belongs that makes the OCD in me smile and be still. Luckily for me, my husband is supportive of that :)
He came up with a genius design for storing all of our garage "stuff" so that nothing is scattered on the floor or piled against the wall. Check it out:
Kayak and bike racks - chair rack on the right
It's so spacious and neat now! The perfect place for a brand new car ;)
