Road Trip!

This weekend we headed to Bryan/College Station with Brad and Erin for a short stay at a wonderful B&B called Abigaile's Treehouse. We had a wonderful time and visited some of our favorite places in BCS, including the Messina Hof winery. Here are some of the great pictures we took:

There's a spirit can ne'er be told

The four of us with Paul Bonarrigo, the founder of Messina Hof winery (I know, my purse is very sassy)

Who are those gorgeous ladies? ;)

Just a Lazy Weekend

So Kenan and Brad (and Clint and Rod) went to the ATV park in Marble Falls yesterday and had a great time. Erin and I stayed here and did girl things :) When our husbands got home we had fish tacos for supper and watched a good movie. It was a great day!

Thank You for Your Service

Today's sermon dealt with making the ultimate sacrifice for a cause, be it God or country. A girl from the local high school played Taps and of course I was crying in the middle of church. It was a wonderful message and a moving service. Thank you to everyone who is willing to put themselves in the line of fire to protect my family and my freedom.

Ferdinand and the other Ducks

We have new pets! They are called black-bellied whistling ducks and they have decided that our place is the best place to get a free meal. I named the biggest one Ferdinand after the duck in Babe. Even the deer are friends with them! (Also the very large squirrel that I have named Bullwinkle :)

Boys Only! (Ahem, I mean Men)

Kenan and two of his brothers (Kevin and Kurt) went fishing this weekend at Lake Somerville. They had a great time even though they didn't catch very much (check out the clam!)

Happy Mothers' Day!

Dearest Mommy:

You have always been my greatest advocate, my cheerleader, my solace, and now that I'm an adult, my dearest friend. Thank you a million times over for the guidance, the kisses, the discipline, and the love. I fervently hope that when I become a mommy I instantly get all of the good stuff:

  • Ability to make the world's most perfect sandwich
  • Spit that has magical healing and cleaning properties
  • Eyes in the back of my head
  • The look that can slay without words
I love you!

Then:
And now:
Happy Mothers' Day!
