My New Apron
My darling husband bought me a new apron as a surprise since I have been Betty Crocker lately. He also hung a very diva-like hook on the back of the pantry door for me to hang it on (it has a huge crystal ball at the top - I love it!!)
Also, here are a couple of pictures of us sitting IN the river yesterday afternoon with Madison. We all had a blast.
Isn't Madison adorable? She was very tired after making a pile of rocks she found in the river.

Books, Books, Books!!
Everyone who knows me knows that I love to read. I am very passionate about books and literacy. So, I have started a new book review blog where you can go to see what books I am reading and what I thought of them. Here is the link: http://bookreviews-emily.blogspot.com/
Enjoy!!

Fence Progress and More Betty Crocker
We're in the middle of having a permanent fence built in our yard, so I wanted to share some pictures of the progress. It basically makes a nice large yard in the back for Madison and enough room for landscaping and the deck and pool we plan to do eventually. :)

Betty Crocker continues today with Canterbury Jumbles (cookies with chocolate chips, raisins, macadamia nuts and coconut) and Mexican Egg Rolls for dinner. ;)

Just Call Me Betty
I cannot seem to stop cooking. Unless I am too stressed out to do anything but sit still, cooking is my stress relief. It started with the honey-ginger snaps a couple of weeks ago and since then it's been banana bread, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, brownies, pot roast, several loaves of homemade bread.
Brad and Erin came over for dinner and a movie last night and we had pot roast with potatoes and carrots, homemade bread, and the brownies. The brownies were a new recipe and they turned out really well :) I haven't yet gotten to the point where I'm taking pictures of my creations but I'm getting close ;)

Happy Independence Day!
Kenan and I spent this weekend with my mom and dad in Caldwell and had a great time. We fished and I tried on my kimono (all the way from Japan!) and watched some James Bond last night. Here are some pictures:
Here is Daddy on the B
Kenan doing a little evening fishing (he caught lots of fish!)
Me in my yukata (summertime kimono - it took about 30 minutes to get it put on properly and Mom and I both needed a nap afterwards)
